IMPORTANT CONCERNS FOR SAFE USAGE:
The batteries used in SEE ME™ are high capacity, state-of-the-art batteries.. They store a great deal of energy. If short-circuited, for example, if carried in a pocketful of keys or coins, or tossed into a toolkit, they can overheat in seconds, resulting in damage or personal injury by fire or explosion.
Always Observe Battery Polarity! Be alert to how you position each battery when installing it into a battery pack. If you install one or more batteries incorrectly, SEE ME™ will either not work at all, or will work less efficiently. We recommend that after installing batteries, you take a second to check the orientation of each battery, and make sure each end is in contact with the battery holder.
Do not Mix Battery Types! Use Alkalines only, or use NiMH rechargeables only, or use Lithium batteries only. Mixing battery chemistries can result in one type forcing the failure of another. Do not mix Dead batteries with Charged batteries! Make a practice of charging and replacing your batteries as a set of four or eight.
WARNING! - USE THE WATERPROOF CASE FOR SEE METM ONLY! DO NOT store Keys, Coins, Watches, Jewelry, Pens, or other Metallic Items (e.g., Nuts, Bolts, Screws, Washers, Tools) inside the Case! - Metallic items might cause a short-circuit, which could cause batteries to ignite, explode, leak, become hot, or cause burns!
- Observe Battery Polarity (+/-). Place the flat (-) end of each battery in contact with the spring shaped contact in each battery holder.
- If SEE METM fails to operate, ensure that each battery is not dead, not reversed, and touching both battery holder end contacts.
- The supplied weatherproof case MUST be locked closed to ensure that SEE METM remains clean and dry when used during wet weather.
- Handle batteries carefully. Dropping batteries can damage them. If a battery becomes damaged or questionable, replace it with a new battery.
- NEVER install wet batteries into SEE METM. Change batteries in a dry location.
- SEE METM is designed to provide you with RESERVE POWERTM.
- Performance degrades gradually, as available energy diminishes during use. After a few days of average bicycle commuting, or 10-12 hours of a lengthy road trip, swap the batteries in Packs A & B with those in Packs C & D, for a renewed period of service. If you are making a lengthy trip, you can safely keep 4 to 8 spare batteries dry in a sealable bag in your pack or pocket.
- SEE METM operates on common, widely available AA batteries.
- For information about detecting and replacing weak or defective batteries, refer to your packaged product brochure.
- If you ride, walk, or run WITH the flow of traffic, wear SEE METM on the rear of your waist, backpack, or conveyance, to improve your visibility from the rear. If you ride, walk, or run FACING the flow of traffic, wear SEE METM on the front of your waist or conveyance, to improve your visibility from the front.
- If you are crossing streets in a wheelchair, or pushing a baby stroller across the street, then a side-mounted SEE METM can help to alert drivers who MUST SEE YOU before they can consciously elect to safely grant you the right-of-way
- If during darkness you need to make repairs, read maps/manuals, or inspect/view your surroundings, wear SEE METM on the front of your waist, or hold it in your hand, and switch it to SEETM mode.
- SEETM mode is a bright source of working light, or if worn on the front of your waist, to light the way ahead.
