Usage Tips
Using Multiple SEE ME™ Modes of Operation.

Testing your Batteries.
After twelve hours of using SEE ME™ on the road, if you think the LEDs appear to be growing dimmer, you can remove the batteries from each pack of four; swap the two sets of four batteries, and then continue for another twelve hours of usage.  With an average commute, SEE ME™ should provide you with a week of service without a battery swap.

In SEE™ mode, the batteries powering the white LEDs can also be swapped when light output appears to be growing dim.  This will give an additional period of time of use for the light.  The white LEDs selected for use in the light will continue to give a usable amount of light for many additional hours.  Moreover, if you use the SEE™ light without swapping the batteries, until the light has weakened significantly, and then you want to get back on the road, click into SEE ME™ mode again and you will enjoy a full period of SEE ME™ operation.

If you suspect that a battery is defective or dead, you can test your batteries by following these steps:

1. Remove the two batteries from battery pack B and set them aside.
2. Set the power switch to the SEE ME™ position, and observe the brightness of the flashing yellow LEDs.
3. Pair up two batteries in battery pack A that make the flashing as bright as you would expect given the assumed state of battery charge.
4. Remove one of these two known good batteries and substitute the remaining six batteries one at a time.
5. As you remove one battery at a time from battery packs C and D to test them, replace that battery with one you have already determined to be good.
6. If a battery is inserted and the flashing yellow LEDs become significantly dimmer, then that battery is certainly more discharged than the other batteries.
7. You may subsequently conclude that the same battery is defective if it fails to take or hold a recharge.

If you suspect that a bettery is damaged or defective, replace it with a known new, charged battery of the same type already in use.

Every possible design consideration has been applied so that SEE ME is not an "all-or-nothing" device.  We have tried to make every type of operation degrade gracefully.  Many portable products have the severe limitation of working up to a certain point, and then just going dead.  One never knows when some kind of warning, or lighting option might fill a life-saving need.
